NBDE Part-1 and Part-2 exams are conducted by the ADA (American Dental Association) in order for all dental students and other Dentists to gain licensure in United States to practice dentistry. For an international dentist to be able to practice dentistry here, one needs to firstly get through the part-1 National Boards. These examinations assess the ability to understand important information from basic biomedical and dental sciences and also the ability to apply such information in a problem-solving context. Specific dental licensure requirements vary among jurisdictions, but all jurisdictions have three basic requirements: an educational requirement, a written examination requirement and a clinical examination requirement. You must complete all three for basic licensure requirements. National board exam requirement fulfills the written examination requirement as well as the entry to a dental school which is mandatory to get the license to practice dentistry.

The only requirements to be able to take the National Board Exams for an international dental graduate are:

Completion of 4 years of Dental School in our home country, i.e. you can take the exam during internship.
An ECE evaluation from United states based evaluation service.
A valid visa to enter United States to take the exam.
